January – New Year’s Walks & Local Markets
Start your year with guided walks through Queen Elizabeth Park or Southwood Woodland, ideal for clearing your head post-holiday. Weekly markets and craft fairs also return, offering locally grown goods and handmade creations.
- Farnborough Market takes place every Tuesday and Friday from 9am – 4pm on Queensmead.
- Farnborough Craft Fayre is every Saturday from 9am – 4pm in the town centre.
February – Half-Term Family Fun
Princes Hall in nearby Aldershot hosts family-friendly theatre shows and workshops. Look out for community centre activities during the February half-term — a great way to keep the little ones engaged.

March – Farnborough International Space Show & Business Expo
In March, Farnborough hosts the International Space Show, the UK’s largest international event pioneering the commercial space age and advancing space domain defence.

April – Easter Celebrations
Community egg hunts pop up across town in places like King George V Playing Fields and local churches. Libraries often host Easter-themed craft sessions and storytime events.
May – Sustainable Skies World Summit
Sustainable Skies World Summit returns to the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre in May. Gathering international government representatives, regulators, airlines, OEMs, investors, members of academia and media to discuss the immediate and long-term concerns and solutions that are driving the sector towards a more sustainable future. This event will further accelerate the industry’s progress towards reaching its Net Zero commitments.

June – Armed Forces Day Prom in the Park
With Aldershot’s military roots, the area pulls out all the stops. The annual celebration of music and the Armed Forces is at the end of June. Hundreds of people are expected to attend the Prom in the Park in Princes Gardens, Aldershot. There’s live music, community stalls and family activities at this free event.

July – Farnborough International Airshow
A global must-see! The Farnborough International Airshow (every two years) brings aviation pros, families, and fans together for incredible aerial displays, tech showcases, and family exhibits. Public days are packed with things to see and do.

August – The British Motor Show
Nearly 60,000 families and car fans flock to Farnborough each year to visit The British Motor Show, making it one of the largest consumer events in the UK.
It’s a unique weekend full of entertainment, driving experiences, technology & live content! The latest cars, stunt shows, celebrities on stage, under 17 driving and test drives create memorable moments. There’s an amazing display of ultra-rare supercars, classic cars, the latest new cars and EVs, plus modified cars, motorsport and kids rides too.

October – Halloween in the Park and MegaCon Live

MegaCon Live & Kids Mega Zone is the ultimate popular culture show with guests, games, Anime, Manga, movies, Steampunk, Stormtroopers, cosplay and so much more. The Kids Mega Zone features the Croco Obstacle Course, Minion Jump & Slide, Dora Ball Pit and Kids Bumpers.

November – Fireworks, Remembrance & Frost Fair
Bonfire Night comes alive with fireworks displays at Cove Green and Queen’s Avenue Playing Fields. Mid-month, join the community in solemn observance of Remembrance Sunday parades.
Farnborough Frost Fair is the biggest free family Christmas celebration in Rushmoor. This annual event attracts nearly 20,000 visitors and offers a sleigh-full of festive and fun activities! Each year, visitors can find Christmas presents in the festive market, packed full of gorgeous gifts, from local food and drink, to handmade jewellery and unique Christmas decorations. There’s street theatre, circus skills workshops, festive arts and crafts and a chance to meet Father Christmas.

December – Christmas Lights & Winter Wonderland
Farnborough transforms for the holidays! The Christmas Lights Switch-On in the town centre is a magical night featuring live music, Santa’s Grotto, and festive stalls. Don’t miss the Aldershot Christmas Market just next door, too.
